Matter of Pride n Honour for VVP Parivar

Dr Chirag Vibhakar, Head EE Dept at VVP Engg College, Rajkot has been selected as an Associate Post Doctoral Research Fellow at Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) Bengaluru.
This year only two such Research Fellowships were awarded. CPRI is a renowned research institute in India. CPRI has more than 300 Research scientist and Engineers working under it.
Dr. Vibhakar’s research would be especially on Silicon Rubber, which will reduce the cost of transmission for G.E.B, reduce the breakdown and insulation failures, thus increasing the life of transmission and reducing the risks of accidents during maintenance.
Ten years back, Dr. Chirag Vibhakar had set up the high voltage lab in VVP Engineering College. Due to his efforts, every year a good number of VVP students are selected by GEB and other companies in the power sector. He has also applied for a research grant from the Science and Research Board (SERB), Department of for carrying forward the research work in the same field.

EC student outshines in GTU Elocution Competition

Parth Thaker (3rd Sem) became 1st Runner up in GTU inter college elocution competition on Sardar Patel & His role in uniting India” on 140th birth anniversary of Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at GTU, Chandkheda, Ahmedabad, Gujarat on 31/10/15.

There were total 78 participants belonging to UG level (B.E. & B.Pharm), PG Level, Faculties as well as Doctorate persons.

He gave an impromptu speech that inspired the students as well as the faculties of entire GTU present at the Chandkheda Campus and it was uniquely delivered which played a major part in this achievement.

He has been offered sponsorship from 3 Re known Universities for perusing Ph.D. which can be considered as appreciation from International Platform. He has received Rs. 65,000/- scholarship (Robert J. Soremon scholarship) along with best student of the year award by INMM Atlanta U.S.A

Mr.Vivek Maradiya did his M.Tech from PDPU and is planning in future to pursue PhD.

He started his career in doing research in the area of Nuclear Engineering at UG level itself and for this purpose he presented and publishes various papers at more than 15 countries around the world. He presented papers on Nuclear Olampiad at countries like Vienna, Austria, etc and also attented the Nuclear heads meet.

He became the first Indian to be awarded as the student of the year 2014 by International Nuclear Material Mangement. In addition, he became the President of the student chapter started there for the first time. He again became the first Indian to be awarded as the Youngest fellow by the summer Institute world Nuclear University, Sweden.

His paper was awarded as the best paper by MIT, USA. He has presented and published around 15 research papers in his area. On 7th November, 2015 he is going to ro Washington DC, USA to receive the award names as American Nuclear Society student of the year 2015.

He has received the offer letter from CAMECO, Canada but since he wants to pursue his PhD, he will not join there. World Nuclear Association has sponsored him for World Nuclear University summer Institute 2015 hosted by Upsala University (oldest) course which is considered to be the best course for Nuclear Engineering having a duration of 6 weeks.

He has pursued a 15 day course at World Nuclear University school on radiation technology at Katah University and Hamad mulical corporation in year 2014. In addition, he has pursued another 15day course at International Center for Theoritical Physics school on Nuclear security at Italy in year 2014.
