6th Sem. EC students Got I2I award by GTU Innovation Council
6th Semester students Akash Paul and Pavan Ramchandani from Electronics and communication Engineering department got GIC i2i (Innovate to Impact) Award 2015 by GTU INNOVATION COUNCIL, on the 4th Innovation Sankul Day at 14th Feb 2015.
Project Name: JOMON
The project focused on making a robotic platform which allows human control for a similarly designed bipedal robot which mimics the action of the operator. Thereby allowing us to deploy this platform at any remote place which may be dangerous or unsuitable for humans but still needs highly agile & finely controlled robots.
V.V.P. Engg. College, Rajkot is known to take unique steps to empower the teaching fraternity and largely the students in turn.
In today’s era we can say that women’s become more and more self reliant and Omni professional, contributed a lot to the society. On 6th feb. 2015 one woman’s empowerment programme was organized, which was designed and developed by Trinity Organization, Rajkot. Head Constable Shree Bhagwati Ben, Mr. Apoorva Mehta, and Dr. Gora Trivedi were the speakers for the programme. As per the tradition, programme was initiated by prayer, sung by Ms. Pooja And Ms. Mansi.
In her speech Smt. Bhagwatiben talked about the contribution of the women’s to the society. Now a days woman have covered all the field, keep her hand upward for all the task no matter whether it’s big or small, easy or tough. But we have many challenges in front of us like protection of women’s in today’s era impact of social media, impact of environment, and impact of friendship family background. She advised the students to take care themselves to empower the skill of self protection, to develop self confidence, to create awareness to the society against all negative steps taken with the women’s in the society. She further insisted not to create negative image of police, instead of that try to cooperate the police to stop the crimes happen in the society against women’s.
Mr. Apoorva Mehta, founder of Trinity Organization, Rajkot also spoke about the Women’s role in the society. He gives training to the police and organizes such awareness seminars to various institutions.
Dr. Gora Trivedi, Consultant at Trinity Organization, Rajkot gave detail guidance to the students about now they protect themselves? What are the provisions in law? She pointed out some of the ethical points always to be followed by either students/working women’s. Every woman has a unique identity. Which should be preserved by an individual? She throwed the light on women’s protection related provision mentioned in constitution. She further added to take help of “ABHAYAM- 181” helpline in case of emergency.
Managing Trustee Honerable Shree Pravinkaka and Respected Principal Dr. Sachin Parikh are the torch bearer to the institution, who always guide and promote such inimitable activities to set an example to the society. Convener of Human Cell, Dr. Jignasha Mehta, Co-convener Prof. Anjana Saparia and her team facilitated the event. Prof. Radhika Kotecha hosted the programme successfully.
NATIONAL ENVIRONMENT AWARENESS CAMPAIGN – 2014-15 DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT & FOREST G.O.I.

No. of faculty participated: more than 20
The nature has developed Hydrological cycle for maintenance of environmental balance of mother earth, in which the fresh water, which gets converted into waste water during domestic and industrial use is automatically purified through natural process of evaporation, filtration, sedimentation and biodegradation.
Due to lack of knowledge and commitment, the fresh water sources both on & below ground are getting polluted due to development activities. The huge water coming out after domestic as well as industrial usage is disposed off in the fresh water bodies without proper treatment. If this trend is not prevented, a day will come sooner when we will loose all sources of fresh water especially in India.
Materialistic development with preservation of environment up to the required standard is possible. We have to understand the process of nature and to develop the technology, in progressive way, in accordance with the principles followed by nature.
Technology for minimizing the pollution:
The mother earth is constructed out of five basic elements (i.e. Pruthvi, Jal, Tej, Vayu & Avakash). Individually each element is pure and pristine. During development activities, the elements combine to produce the necessary products to complete the cycle there exist. As soon as one element combines with another element, creating the pollution, the auto purification process starts immediately to purify all the natural elements. The bacteria are produced by nature for disintegration of waste and both the elements get purified. During the process the foul gases like H2S, CH4 & Co2 are also produced. If we understand this process and develop technology in which as soon as the two elements get mixed during domestic process like bathing and cleaning, it is purified through the process of aeration, flocculation, biodegradation & filtration, the elements get purified at source and can be reused as original material.
At present in urban areas, waste water from individual houses/buildings is conveyed to a distance place by resorting to multiple pumping, processed partially through so called sewage / effluent treatment plants and disposed off into the river. Recently the same process is being adopted for rural waste water as well by polluting the downstream of the river of every city, town and village, converting clean river water into polluted water. If in place of disposing off this partially treated water in the river, if it is supplied to the farm or agricultural field, we can save fresh water as well as fertilizer needed for agriculture.
Initially there will always be a resistance, whenever new technology is introduced, how so ever useful it may be. (A matchbox took 100 years to get social acceptance because mankind was accustomed to rubbing of stones.) But if proper technology is developed, models are prepared and aggressive awareness campaign is launched by the committed citizens, one can achieve the higher level of social acceptance. The religious leaders can play a major role by propagating this activity as a part of religion. If we take up these activities, we can reduce financial burden of the State and Government can use saved resources for other important activities. During course of time, all the rivers of the state as well as nation can be purified and brought to the level, as it was originally before beginning of development activities.
With this aim on occasion like this we get opportunities to test our knowledge and understanding. We look forward to get an exposure about what the best of the brains think about critical issues of the society and nation this seminar was arranged in association with Engineering Seva Trust, Vadodara.
Engineering Seva Trust is a group of experienced civil engineers, providing free consultancy services to the society. It has successfully implemented innovative projects for water conservation. Seminars are organized at regular interval, to show the outcome and develop awareness among students, teachers and professionals.
At Engineering Seva Trust these technologies are developed at both village level as well as urban level successfully & economically. If the technology is replicated throughout nation we can save money, manpower & environment.

VVP Engineering College has proved Excellency in many fields of research and development.
VVP Engineering College works with the motive to provide sound technical engineers to the nation. The institute is always concern about the challenges faced by the students. There is a pertinent complain from most of the industries that there is a major rift between syllabus offered by the universities, students or graduates who come out from university and requirement of industry. Last year with a great concept of our chairman shri Pravinkaka along with young industrialist shri Parakramsinh Jadeja have decided that the students of 6th semester VVP College will go to the industries & get experience of shop-floor knowledge and skill of their own interest to bridge the gap in between industry and institution.
To execute this idea Dr. Sachin Parikh, Principal, VVP Engineering College has formed a committee in which Dr. jignasa Mehta is appointed as convener & Dr. Chirag Vibhakar as Co – Convener. By collective efforts V.V.P. College has signed 120 MOUs with different companies, which covers 573 pre final year students under that. Under this program all students have to go to different industries in weekends (Saturday- Sunday) for whole day. Each faculty has been given a group of students and company. They have to take follow up of each student in every week likely to submit a report to concerned staff member. College has also requested the companies to provide transportation and food facilities wherever it has been available.
