Felicitation Program of Industrialists

VVP Engineering College has proved Excellency in many fields of research and development.

VVP Engineering College works with the motive to provide sound technical engineers to the nation. The institute is always concern about the challenges faced by the students. There is a pertinent complain from most of the industries that there is a major rift between syllabus offered by the universities, students or graduates who come out from university and requirement of industry. Last year with a great concept of our chairman shri Pravinkaka along with young industrialist shri Parakramsinh Jadeja have decided that the students of 6th semester VVP College will go to the industries & get experience of shop-floor knowledge and skill of their own interest to bridge the gap in between industry and institution.

To execute this idea Dr. Sachin Parikh, Principal, VVP Engineering College has formed a committee in which Dr. jignasa Mehta is appointed as convener & Dr. Chirag Vibhakar as Co – Convener. By collective efforts V.V.P. College has signed 120 MOUs with different companies, which covers 573 pre final year students under that. Under this program all students have to go to different industries in weekends (Saturday- Sunday) for whole day. Each faculty has been given a group of students and company. They have to take follow up of each student in every week likely to submit a report to concerned staff member. College has also requested the companies to provide transportation and food facilities wherever it has been available.

Seminar on “Concept of Design Engineering” held at V.V.P. Engineering College

A Report on a Seminar on “Concept of Design Engineering” held at V.V.P. Engg. College, Rajkot on 12th November 2014

Design Engineer, an innovative concept implemented at GTU which covers multiple engineering disciplines. The uniting model is a focus on applying the ‘engineering design process, in which engineers develop new products or processes with a primary emphasis on functional utility. Design engineering is an initiative taken by Gujarat Technology University in this direction with the help and guidance of the professors of IITs and the GTU Innovation Council we are looking ahead in moving on the path of innovation.

VVP Engineering College, Rajkot organized an Orientation program for all its faculties for the newly introduced subject Design Engineering (DE), ‘ Concept of Design Engineering ‘ on 12 Nov 2014 at EC auditorium. Prof. Dr. Sachin Parikh, Principal of V.V.P. Engineering College and Dean of GTU Zone 4 gave a deep insight of the GTU policies regarding Design Engg. and its importance in the field of Engineering. Prof. Keyur Nagecha, Head of Civil Engineering Department, then gave the faculties thorough information regarding this subject. Participants gradually started getting a crystal clear picture of the new subject and its motto. Then what followed was a series of queries and solutions which ensured the active participation and more importantly the Involvement and understanding on the part of the faculty members. The Programme also intends to develop the knowledge of participants for simulation with design problems in 3rd semester students in the relevant field for guiding and monitoring their progress.

Seminar talk covered all relevant aspect of Design Engineering like Empathy mapping, ideation canvas, product development canvas, business model canvas, and design thinking venture canvas along with GTU policies for 3rd Semester.
