TITLE:

Machine Vision Visual Inspection For Beverage Manufacturing

DESCRIPTION:

The most common use of image processing in industrial setting is for the automated visual inspection of product leaving a production facility. In this practical exercise we are dealing with bottling production line in a facility bottling soda for domestic market. The bottling company require a vision system to automatically identify a number of different faults that may occur during filling, labeling and capping stage of production so that these bottling can be intercepted prior to packaging. Our task is to design and prototype an image processing system to detect the set of faults conditions and identifying the type of faults that has occurred. We will develop prototype system using Matlab.

TECHNOLOGY:

The system is developed using Matlab tool. This is very fast and error less technology for visual inspection.

TITLE:

Design of mechanism for automatic lifting the ram in a hydraulic jack using mechanical- electrical system.

DESCRIPTION:

A mechanical jack is used to lift heavy objects. In addition to this; it can also be utilized to align heavy machines. We have taken a hydraulic bottle jack operated by hand. Here the hand is replaced by a mechanism consisting of flywheel, connecting rod and plunger. The flywheel is operated by a 12v DC motor that rotates it and a slot is provided on the flywheel in which a slider connected to the connecting rod converts the rotary motion of flywheel into linear motion of the connecting rod. And the plunger connected at the end of connecting rod moves up and down vertically which provides the same action that of the hand and the ram gets lifted up.

A photoelectric sensor having a range of 4mm is attached to the cylinder and this sensor is operated by an electrical circuit. When an object obstructs the infrared beam it actuates the motor and the ram gets lifted up automatically by the movement of the plunger.

TECHNOLOGY:

Mechanical linkages replacing the hand of the jack and a proximity sensor to sense the load. Automation in order to reduce effort and enhance comfort. This will provide less laborious effort, less fatigue to a worker.

1) TITLE:

“DESIGN OF AUTOMATIC TURNING PART FEEDER”

2) DESCRIPTION:

The development of a flexible and rotary bowl feeding system which is suitable for use in a flexible manufacturing system, The rotary bowl feeder for automatic turning part feeder with its design and function used for DX 100 CNC machine which feed component automatically with right orientation to chuck by the help of rotating disc drum and conveyor and it is use for mass production with machining cycle time of 20 second.

  • PROBLEM DEFINATION:

 

As CNC machine is automatic machine which is used to turn out the component. The part is feed by a worker in the chuck and machining is done by the programing using a controlling panel. As machining is automatic why won’t we use fully automatic manufacturing machine. To do that only thing left in CNC is feeding for loading and unloading without human interpretation. So feeder is used for that purpose as there is another solution we can use robotic arm but it is expensive and it is semiautomatic as picking and placing is done but right orientation is not possible. To fulfill that requirement a feeder is used it orient the part in right position and load to chuck. But there is a problem with feeder and that is it changes with change in design of component so there is no universal feeder which is used for feeding all different component. But similar geometry component can be used in same feeder.

TITLE:

Design and analysis of mechanical gripper for cotton bolls Picking robot.

DESCRIPTION:

Cotton have been cultivating in large area of Saurashtra region and farmers are facing a major problem of picking the cotton from the plants for that they required machine or robot which can do the job of cotton picking. There are three operations like holding cotton bolls, grasping cotton bolls and plucking the cotton from cotton bolls require to perform for that a mechanical cotton picking gripper was designed for picking cotton from cotton bolls. A pivoted type gripper mechanism used for grasping and holding model, a slider crank type mechanism used for plucking model.

There are three motor are require to run cotton picking gripper among two motor are servo which is used in grasping model and plucking model while last one is electromagnetic solenoid motor is used in holding model.

TECHNOLOGY:

A pivoted type four finger grasping mechanism run by power screw linear actuator where screw is rotate by servo motor in grasping model while plucking model run by slider crank mechanism with the help servo motor and in holding model two finger move by pivoted mechanism with the help of electric linear motor.
