V.V.P. Engineering College has started Energy Audit Cell in the year of 2020 with the following objectives.

  • To achieve and maintain optimum energy procurement and utilization in the Society.
  • To minimize energy costs without affecting production & quality.
  • To minimize environmental effects.

In the field of the energy conservation solutions, we provide the services in the key area of energy audit service, power quality audit service, thermography, electrical safety audit service etc. with the following Objectives.

What is Energy Audit:

Energy Audit is the key to a systematic or scientific approach for decision-making in the area of energy management. It tries to stable the total energy inputs with its utilization and serves to identify all the energy streams in a facility. It quantifies energy usage according to its discrete functions. Industrial energy audit is an effective tool to define and pursuing complete energy management programme.

Need for Energy Audit:

In any industry, the three top operating expenses are often found to be energy (both electrical and thermal), labour and materials. If one were to relate to the manageability of the cost or potential cost savings in each of the above components, energy would invariably emerge as a top ranker, and thus energy management function constitutes a strategic area for cost reduction. Energy Audit will help to understand more about the ways energy and fuel are used in any industry, and help in identifying the areas where waste can occur and where scope for improvement exists.

Energy Audit Tie-up with ERDA

RDA (Electrical Research Development Association, Vadodara) is an autonomous, not-for-profit sector, association of the Indian electrical industries & utilities.  ERDA is registered as a society under the Society’s Act & Public Trust. ERDA provides critical services to the power sector in three technical areas of “Testing & Evaluation”, “Field Services”, and “R&D and Expert Services”.  These services are provided through ERDA’s 24 state-of-the-art technical centres located at its Head office at Vadodara as well as through its three regional laboratories –   ERDA (West), Navi Mumbai; ERDA (North), Gurgaon and ERDA (South), Rajahmundry.

The Energy Audit Laboratory has come into possession of energy audit and power quality monitoring equipment as below:
