V.V. P Engineering College organized a one-day college level Techfest-2022 on 29 Feb. 2024.The inauguration was held in the presence of Principal Dr. Tejas Pataliya and Head of the department. Students of various departments participated in events like Quiz & Run, Chem-O-World, Bottle Flipper, Ice-Stick, organized by the department. All the events were planned and organized by the students under the monitoring and supervision of faculty members. A team of student coordinators and volunteers worked round the clock to make the event a grand success. Some fun activities were also there for entertainment of students. The motive behind organizing such events was to motivate, inspire and enable learning in the students. The students had worked hard for the completion of the event and felt motivated and inspired to take up such work in future.

Mr. Jay Rever, alumni of 2022, Chemical Engineering Department of V.V.P. Engineering College, Rajkot interacted with the students of B.E. 6th Semester. Mr. Jay Rever is working in Nirma Chemical Ltd, Bhavnadar since 2022. As an engineer.He gave career related guidance and talked about the future scope of the chemical engineering in various sectors. He had also discussed the importance of engineering subjects in the industry.Beside this, he also discussed the importance of soft skills in industries and talked about the importance of manpower management, human relations, and lifelong learning for the continued growth in career. He insists students to take part in all college level activities for their overall development.

The Chemical Engineering department organized a Gate Guidance Lecture on Preparation methodology for GATE Examination on Tuesday, 25th March 2023 to sensitize the students at early stage so that they start their preparation right from 3rd year. Rohit Mehta, Alumni of 2020 batch, was the speaker. Through his talk, he explained the importance of GATE exam, method for preparation, important topics on which more questions are asked, notes preparation, Test series, Online resources, PYQS, books required for preparation and consistent preparation. He explained own journey for the GATE exam preparation. Qualifying GATE examination with excellent score not only offers chance to get admission to M Tech in premier institutes like IITs and NITs but also offers job openings in public sector companies and R &D.

Mr. Anand Thanki, alumni of 2010, Chemical Engineering Department of V.V.P. Engineering College, Rajkot interacted with the students of 7th Semester.Mr. Anand did his Chemical engineering in 2010. He had worked experience of almost 12 years in refinery and petrochemical sector. He is currently working as a senior manager in Farabi Petrochemical Company, Abudhabi.Mr. Anand described to students about how they should plan to crack the interviews of MNCs in Chemical engineering. He also conveyed the company etiquettes and the working culture in multi-national companies. He told students to be clear about their platform or area of interest and being a Chemical engineering graduate.

He is selected and currently working as Graduate Engineer Trainee in Alembic Pharmaceuticals, Vadodara.Mr. Harsh described the importance of peer learning and its advantage with 2nd year students. After B.E he did a master’s in business management from Mumbai. He is currently working as Senior Business Executive at Airtel Bharti. He guided students on how to get admission for MBA and what is structure of study there. He explained the importance of technical concepts of BE required for research in chemical engineering field.

Mr. Hemang Jasani, alumni of 2019, Chemical Engineering Department of V.V.P. Engineering College, Rajkot interacted with the students of 3rd Semester.Hemang Jasani, a Chemical Engineering graduate from the 2019 batch, pursued his Master's degree in Chemical Engineering in Germany before embarking on his current role as a Research Assistant in Canada. In his position, he not only conducts research but also guides students on the process of pursuing higher education in Germany, sharing insights into the structure of study programs and the admission process.Drawing from his own academic journey, Hemang stresses the importance of understanding technical concepts from the undergraduate level, emphasizing their role in facilitating advanced research in Chemical Engineering. This perspective allows him to effectively bridge theoretical knowledge with practical applications, both in his research endeavors and when advising students.Beyond academia, Hemang is actively involved in consultancy research for prominent companies across various countries. Through this work, he underscores the significance of research as a viable career path, demonstrating its relevance in addressing real-world challenges and driving innovation.
